sunlightandgreaves This album get a well deserved positive review and recommendation. Seguya is working with more than standards within specific but related genres local to Uganda. He works with and interprets several styles concurrently. Lots of really solid original compositions in here that deserve more attention. The tracks breathe well.

about

The tribal sounds from Uganda, with deep sounds resonating from Uganda.

Uganda, in general has the largest number of kingdoms in East Africa and each of these kingdoms has got its own traditional norms
Buganda,Bunyoro,Ankole,Busoga,Gishu and many more
One day I get the thought how best could we unite and one of the ways I thought of was to use traditional instruments from each part of these kingdoms so that, they resonates.
And if someone listen an acholi sound in a Buganda beat then it’s fun and someone gets to understand that it can be done,
Growing up in Kampala is one of those things that teaches you how best to unite because it’s about survival, somehow in the in the slums,
I remember a day when we found this man eating kikomando(chapati and beans) on the road side and we played some Adungu for him and he wanted to give some but it was fun and that only was so generous, but we played for him as he ate and after left but he smiled and said I liked it.

In this album is try as much as possible to unite others, it’s not only about music but also the tribal connection.
The children joining the elders to sing together and in Ayiiwangayo you will hear that, so I love that.
Further more celebrating unity and sharing peace with the instruments from Uganda.

Akogo jazz as one of the most rated tracks too, from jazz lovers and folk listener
And dedicating one of the tracks PASA Njabalo to all of you(with a very strong meaning and connection)

Echoes Of Uganda was an idea given by someone and I give credits, it’s a very good title and inspiring word.
